National Accomplishments

Broadway Dance Studio & Performing Arts has been following student SHANE TRELOAR on his Broadway Tour of "ELF" in his role of "Michael!" Stay tuned as BDS takes a road trip to see him perform in Hershey, PA this December!

Broadway Dance Studio and Performing Arts is PROUD to announce student Shane Treloar will be playing the role of "Michael" in the BROADWAY NATIONAL TOUR OF "ELF!"

Shane has been a student at BDS for 5 years studying Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Voice, and Acting.  For the past 2 years, Shane has been to NYC for Broadway auditions such as "Matilda," "Billy Elliot," "Newsies," "Pippin," and "The Fly" making it to the very end at every audition.  Yet the rejection of not getting the role never stopped this young man from pursuing his dream.

And it finally paid off!  Shane has also just signed with New York's leading Child and Young Actor's agent Nancy Carson of Carson-Adler Agency to represent him for future projects.

All of us at BDS are beaming with pride and know that Shane is the first of MANY of our students who will soon realize their dreams!

Mark Bramble Showstoppers!

As the owner of BDS, one of the joys of nurturing our aspiring students aside from the training they receive by our faculty, is offering them the opportunity to travel outside of Pennsylvania to perform with professionals in the business.

This summer, I was contacted by the author and owner of “42nd Street” Mark Bramble, who was producing a Horizons benefit in Chestertown, Maryland asking me if I was interested in doing a tap solo for his show, Showstoppers.  I suggested two of my students instead and sent him a video of 13 year olds Briana Patterson and Shane Treloar recreating the original choreography of Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire’s amazing tap dance to “Begin the Beguine.”  He immediately responded “Absolutely!”  When he heard that Shane also sang, he put him as the lead in the opening number, “Revolting Children” from “Matilda”.

October 16, 2015 Shane traveled to New York City with BDS Director, Karen Prunzik to sign his contract for Billy Elliot, and to register for his Equity card!

Congratulations Shane on becoming an Equity Member!  We are extremely proud of you and can't wait to see you perform as Michael in Billy Elliot at the Jupiter Theater in Florida!

It was an amazing experience for our students working with Mark and Broadway musical director Paul Masse. And for me, I couldn’t have been more proud of my students. They knew their cues, their lyrics, how to work their microphones (as both of them had to sing the closing number) and word from Mark just recently is.....”your young tappers are the talk of the town!”  Again making me proud and putting Broadway Dance Studio on the map!!!

The icing on the cake when they were not rehearsing is the fun they had exploring a charming town they have never been before. Truly an experience they will never forget!
