Miriam Scigliano - Biography

After many years of training Miriam now focuses her energy on her students and creating unique pieces of choreography. Her early extensive training in ballet built a solid foundation for her to successfully study various techniques of jazz and modern dance. As a dancer Miriam performed with the National Ballet and received numerous scholarships from nationally recognized institutions such as Broadway Dance Center in NYC, Tremaine Studios in L.A. and the Jazz World Congress in Chicago. She furthered her training at North Carolina School of the Arts and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration in dance, from Point Park University. While at Point Park, Miriam studied Horton and Graham modern techniques. She later studied the methods of Jose Limon and Paul Taylor. In addition to teaching young dancers she also holds the position of Principal to the dance minors at LaRoche College where she teaches various disciplines of dance and choreography. Miriam focuses on sharing her passion for dance with the diverse student body she teaches.
