BROADWAY BABIES I
INTRO TO DANCE
Our Broadway Babies 1 class is for our brand new toddlers ages 3-4 years old who will be experiencing the exciting new world of ballet and tap for the very first time. This is an exciting venture for both the parent and their child and we share your joy in this monumental leap into the world of dance.
Both boys and girls participate in this introductory class which teaches the student 20 minutes of basic ballet positions and terminology, movements at the barre and away from the barre as well as across the floor. Shoes are then changed and tap begins. The same procedure is followed with tap.
The Broadway Babies 1 class is a structured class with an informal and joyful atmosphere taught by one of our Professional Faculty members. We have found that very young children are quite intelligent, much more than people give them credit for. The more they are taught, the more they learn and remember.
It is important for new Broadway Babies parents to understand why we do not allow parents in the room during class time. It has been our experience in the past that when a parent is in the room, the child’s focus veers away from the instructor and continually goes to their parent. Sometimes a child is afraid to be separated at first from their parent and in that rare situation, we will allow the parent in the room for a few minutes until the child becomes acclimated to the instructor and their classmates.
Our Broadway Babies are featured in our Musical Productions and without fail, every year, steal the show.

BROADWAY BABIES II
Our Broadway Babies 11 program is for our 5-6 year old students and offers 3 classes to choose from, Ballet, Tap, and Song and Dance. Each class is approximately 25 minutes long allowing time to change shoes between classes.
Technique and terminology is an important part of the classes as well as learning the importance of classroom etiquette. The Broadway Babies 11 Classes are structured classes with an informal and joyful atmosphere taught by one of our Professional Faculty members.
The Song and Dance class is very popular among our young students and their parents. This class not only offers the students the opportunity to explore their vocal talents, but encourages the students to freely express themselves in front of their teacher and their peers.
Our Broadway Babies 11 students are featured in our Musical Productions enjoying their first experience on the big stage expressing themselves through Song and Dance!

RECREATIONAL CLASSES
Our Recreational Classes are designed for the student who loves to dance and sing but is not as serious about it as the student who may want to pursue a career. This student may also have other outside interests therefore wishing to attend classes only once a week. Our approach to the Recreational Program is a more relaxed atmosphere than our Pre Pro Program, however, we do maintain a solid structure in the classroom with focus on technique and class etiquette and all Recreational Classes are taught by our Professionally Trained Faculty.

We recommend our Recreational Classes for all new students who would like to add dance and musical theater to their after school activities and for our existing students who have enjoyed their experience at Broadway Dance Studio.
The Recreational students will enjoy participating in our shows having the opportunity to perform in a full scale Musical Production which will showcase their specific talents.
PRE-PRO PROGRAM

We offer the Pre-Pro Program for the student who loves to dance and wants to study more than one day a week and for those who feel they may want to pursue dance as a career.
By the age of 7 or 8, if a child has a strong love and passion for dance and the arts, it is essential they begin to study more than one day a week. As they get older, the number of days a week and classes per day increases. As a Studio Owner, I would be doing my more serious age 7+ students a disservice by not offering them the opportunity to study more than once a week.
The Pre-Pro students are eligible to audition for Company which offers additional performance opportunities throughout the city of Pittsburgh. Past Company appearances include, LIGHT UP NIGHT Downtown Pittsburgh, MY MACY'S PARADE, IDLEWILD PARK, KENNYWOOD PARK, various SUMMER AND FALL FESTIVALS, ACCESS BROADWAY, ONSTAGE NY, NYCDA and more.

PRO
“Professional Training for the Serious Student!”
Our Pro classes are offered to Levels 1 & up and are strictly for the serious student who has made the commitment to pursue dance and musical theater as a career. These classes are designed to prepare the student not only with a strong technique foundation but in all aspects of the entertainment world. Our demands are high. We expect a lot from our students so they are ready when the time comes to audition for the University of their choice, perhaps a commercial, or even a Broadway show.
Our Professionally Trained Faculty has the experience to guide our students in the right direction. Past students have been accepted into the Point Park Summer Intensive program, some with scholarships, at very young ages. Recently a senior student was granted a scholarship to Point Park University’s Musical Theater Program.
Our Pro students participate in all of our Shows and a majority of them are Company members.

TEEN CLASS

It is never too late to start dancing. If your child is 12 years old and up and has never danced before but would like to start, the last thing you want to do is place her or him in a class with 6 & 7 year olds.
Our Teen Classes are designed specifically for beginner Teens. We offer Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Teen Musical Theater and Acting for ages 12 & up. In a relaxed but structured environment, students will learn the techniques for each of these disciplines with students their own age and skill level taught by our Professionally Trained Faculty. These classes are offered once a week and as the student’s technique progresses, and they decide they would like to study more than one day a week, we can then recommend a program which fits their age and level.
The Teen students will enjoy being a part of our Musical Productions which will afford them the opportunity to showcase their specific talents.
ADULT CLASSES
BEGINNER TAP CLASS
Yes, a TRUE BEGINNERS tap class for adults! Not a class with adults who studied tap growing up and want to get back into it. Afterall, tap dancing is like riding a bike. Once you learn how to do it you never forget. You may be rusty but it all comes back in just a short time.
This class is strictly for the true beginner who never put on a pair of tap shoes in their life and always dreamed of someday learning how to tap!
Karen Prunzik teaches the class which is designed to teach the basics of tap in addition to offering an hour of great fun, lots of laughs, and a fantastic workout! Sure beats walking the treadmill for 30 minutes!
You’ll even learn a routine to show your friends and family! And if you want, we will put you in our Spring Production! How exciting would that be??
ADULT JAZZ CLASS
Our Adult Jazz Class is an Adv Beginner/Intermediate Level Class. This class is for adults who have had dance training in the past and have not danced in a while but would like to get back to it for exercise and fun as opposed to visiting a fitness club. Can’t blame you. Once you have dance in your blood, it’s boring to walk the treadmill or ride the stationery bike for 30 minutes.
Great music, floor work, across the floor, center technique and learn a routine to perform for your family and friends. And hey...if you want we will put you in our Spring Production! Why not?
ADULT MUSICAL THEATER CLASS
OK Moms, it’s your turn. I don’t care how old or young you are but you have to admit, watching your child perform sparks a bit of show biz excitement inside of you. Well, why not enjoy learning musical numbers from Broadway Shows yourself?
How much fun would you ladies have learning numbers from “Chicago”, “Cabaret”, “Sweet Charity” and more taught by Lenora Nemetz who is sure to add a lot of laughs and fun to this class. And who knows, you ladies may be ready for Broadway before our students are!
This class is sure to be great fun for all who attend. No prior dance experience necessary (actually preferred).
